About Me

I’m Rhonda Lehman, LCSW-C, LICSW, a Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical with over 30 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults and couples from diverse cultural backgrounds. I’m licensed in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia, and I work with individuals navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and complex life transitions.

I have extensive experience supporting college students and adults with ADHD and executive functioning challenges, particularly when these concerns overlap with anxiety, mood disorders, trauma histories, or relational stress. I bring a thoughtful, steady presence to my work and strive to help clients feel deeply understood while building meaningful, sustainable change.

Approach

I practice from an integrative, mind–body perspective that emphasizes self-regulation, insight, and emotional awareness. My work is grounded in scientifically informed, non-pathologizing, and strength-based approaches that honor each client’s unique history, nervous system, and internal resources.

Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected—from themselves, their partners, or their bodies. In therapy, we focus on slowing down, understanding underlying patterns, and developing practical tools for regulating stress, improving communication, and strengthening relationships at home, school, and work.

I integrate mindfulness, breathing, guided imagery, and somatic interventions—particularly in my work with ADHD and trauma—to support nervous system regulation and resilience. I draw from attachment theory and am especially interested in the legacy of trauma and how relational and communication patterns can be passed across generations.

Couples & Relationship Work

I’m certified in Imago Relationship Therapy and trained in the Gottman Method (Level I). I work with couples and families to improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and interrupt unhelpful relational cycles. My structured yet compassionate approach helps partners feel safer, more heard, and better equipped to navigate conflict and repair.
