The Arbit ADHD Center

We are

The Arbit ADHD Center does more than focus on ADHD alone. We encompass what it means to understand, assess, and support all types of neurodevelopment and learning differences from Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to Autism (ASD) to Dyslexia, and beyond.

Our clinicians are experts in their field of specialty. We provide evaluations to help you gain knowledge on how and why your child’s brain works the way it does, give you the right tools for their specific learning style, and support your family all along the way.

ADHD Support from a Team Who Gets It!

ADHD is more than a “child who can’t sit still” like so many Gen Xers were taught growing up. In fact, there are plenty of adults who don’t get diagnosed until their 40’s or 50’s due to not knowing what the disorder actually looks like. Add in the masking, today’s rat race of celebrating hyperfocus and burnout, and not recognizing the signs of executive dysfunction, and there is a perfect storm of trying to function as a neurodivergent in a world that wasn’t made for you.

Guess what? ADHD does not mean you or your child is broken. In fact, once your child learns their strengths and challenges, they can use them to their advantage, turning ADHD into their very own superpower. When caught earlier in childhood, we are able to give children the skills to function at a much higher level, allowing them to thrive.

That is always the goal: helping you and your family live fuller, healthier, and well-balanced lives as you make the journey toward a successful future together.

Multidisciplinary Team Approach

We don’t believe in "siloed" care. Our team consists of highly trained clinicians, psychologists (like Dr. John Hite for evaluations), and psychiatrists (like Dr. Amarachi Nwaije). This allows us to offer psychotherapy, psychological testing, and medication management all under one roof for a truly integrated experience.

Evidence-Based & Innovative Tools

Our care is grounded in science. From gold-standard diagnostic evaluations toadvanced interventions like CBT, executive functioning support, and solutions-focused therapy, we use proven methods tailored to the specific way your child’s brain processes information.

Neuro-Affirming & Strength-Based

At Arbit, we move beyond the "deficit" model. Our approach is neuro-affirming; we value your child’s unique brain type and focus on their inherent potential. We help you build systems that work with their ADHD, not against it, emphasizing resilience and self-compassion.

Inclusive & Socially Responsible

Equity is a cornerstone of our practice. We are a women-owned business committed to providing a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals. Our mission extends to the community through pro-bono work and reduced-fee services, ensuring high-quality mental health care is accessible to those who need it most.

Specialized Pediatric & Perinatal Expertise

We are uniquely equipped to support families from the very beginning. Whether it's Play Therapy for children ages 2+, PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), or working with parents to navigate ADHDalongside perinatal or postpartum challenges, we understand the impacts on whole family dynamics.

What to expect when

Intake

Starting is easier than you might think. Schedule an introductory call with our office where we can discuss the process and answer your questions. Once you decide to move forward, we will begin the 60–90 minute parent intake: this is a time for us to get to know your child on a deeper level through your eyes and review any previous, outside reports and information.

Evaluation

Next, the psychoeducational evaluationwill assess cognitive abilities, learning skills, and emotional functioning. This helps to determine disorders like ADHD and ASD. We will also observe your child in the classroom. The total evaluation takes around 10 hours, depending on your child’s unique needs.

Care Plan

Our services do not end at the evaluation. In fact, that’s just the beginning. Once everything is complete, it usually takes about four weeks for the report to be ready. We’ll then meet with you to walk through the results together, offering individualized recommendations and support tailored to your child’s specific needs. We can also work with the school and your family to create a 504 plan or IEP, helping your child get their educational needs met.

Ongoing Support

We are here to support you, your child, and your family throughout this journey of discovery, teaching skills and tools to help you throughout each stage of the process. Regardless of where you are, our support never goes away; we are always here to assist, advocate, and encourage you along the way.
