Get to Know Dr. Amarachi Nwaije

The first step is always the hardest. I know it takes courage to seek help, and I honor the strength it took for you to get here. As an adult, adolescent, and pediatric psychiatrist, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating challenges like anxiety, mood swings, fears that lead to repetitive behaviors, or worries that seem to come out of nowhere. Whether it’s guiding a child through overwhelming emotions, helping a parent better understand their child’s struggles, or working with an individual facing their own set of challenges, I focus on compassionate, evidence-based care that meets them where they are.

My approach is rooted in patient-centered care, seeing every person as a whole individual while recognizing they are also part of a family, school, and community. While medication can play an important role in treatment for some individuals, I also integrate lifestyle changes, cognitive-based strategies, and family, adult, adolescent, or pediatric therapy as a balanced approach toward long-lasting success.

Outside of my clinical work, I am passionate about giving back. I often volunteer in communities and countries where access to healthcare is limited, including work with orphanages and underserved children. These experiences continue toshape my perspective and fuel my commitment to making quality mental health care accessible and meaningful for everyone.

Is Dr. Nwaije Your Perfect-Match Therapist?

As a pediatric psychiatrist, I work well with children and adolescents who want to improve their lives, and are interested in doing things differently to make that happen. I also provide care for adults who struggle with depression, anxiety disorders, substance use and a vast variety of mental health problems

The clients I am best-positioned to serve are individuals who require comprehensive mental health care, including those with complex, co-occurring mental health conditions. This includes patients who may benefit from a combination of medication management and psychotherapy, as well as those who need support navigating the challenges of mental health stigma and accessing appropriate resources.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing is possible and that you and your family can thrive with the right support.
