Couple and Family Psychotherapist, Washington, DC (In-Person and Telehealth)
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Washington, DC, originally from Louisville, KY. With 10 years of experience, I work with individuals, couples, and families who are feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or uncertain about how to move forward in their relationships or in themselves. My role is to help you slow things down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and create space for real change that feels both possible and sustainable.
At the heart of my work is a belief that most struggles are not simply individual problems—they are relational patterns shaped by past experiences, unmet needs, and the ways we have learned to protect ourselves. In therapy, we gently uncover these patterns so that you can respond differently, connect more deeply, and feel more emotionally grounded in your life and relationships.
I am trained in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), a solution-focused model that considers the complex social, cultural, and relational systems that shape each individual’s experience. My clinical perspective is informed by cultural humility and a commitment to providing care that is responsive to each client’s unique identity and lived experience.
Approach
My work is relational, warm, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection. I strive to create a space that feels steady, nonjudgmental, and human—where clients don’t have to perform or have the “right” words, but can instead be fully seen and understood. I am especially attuned to the impact of culture, identity, and systemic stressors on emotional well-being, and I work from a culturally responsive lens that honors each client’s lived experience. At its core, my work is about helping people move from feeling stuck or disconnected to feeling more clear, connected, and empowered in how they relate to themselves and the people they care about most.

I specialize in working with couples who feel caught in cycles of conflict, emotional distance, or disconnection—even when love is still present. Many of the couples I work with are asking difficult questions about trust, communication, and whether their relationship can truly be repaired or strengthened. I also support couples in earlier stages of commitment, including dating and premarital relationships, as well as those navigating long-term partnerships, polyamorous dynamics, and separation or discernment processes. My work is trauma-informed, sex-positive, and deeply affirming of LGBTQIA+ relationships and BIPOC couples. I am especially effective with high-conflict dynamics, emotionally reactive cycles, and couples who feel “stuck” but still want to try to understand each other again. In sessions, I draw from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques to help partners move from blame and reactivity toward clarity, emotional safety, and more intentional connection. Whether that means rebuilding the relationship or finding peace in a thoughtful transition.
Couples Therapy And Relationship Support
Young Adult Counseling And Life Transitions
With individuals, I work with people who are trying to find their footing during major life transitions—whether that’s entering adulthood, navigating career changes, managing family stress, or working through relationship challenges and self-worth concerns. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to break patterns that no longer serve them. Therapy becomes a space to understand those patterns, strengthen emotional awareness, and build a more grounded sense of self-trust and direction.
I also have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families in home, school, and community-based settings. I often collaborate with caregivers, teachers, and school-based professionals to support children struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or socially. My approach centers on helping children feel safe, understood, and supported, while also strengthening the systems around them so that change can be sustained beyond the therapy space. I work closely with families to improve communication, reduce conflict, and support healthier relational dynamics at home and in school environments.
